How do I make a counseling appointment?
You can schedule your appointment by calling the front desk at Girls to Women Health and Wellness (GTW) at 972-733-6565. The staff at GTW do things like scheduling first appointments, rescheduling appointments, and taking messages for me.
How long are my therapy appointments?
Your initial appointment will be 60 minutes long. After your first appointment, sessions generally are 45-55 minutes long.
How do I pay for my therapy?
Because Cynthia is dedicated to serving a broad mix of individuals with varying abilities to pay, she is in network with BCBS, Cigna, United, Aetna, and Humana. Please call your insurance company in advance and ask:
- What is my Outpatient Mental Health deductible?
- What is my co pay?
- Is my Mental Health Coverage administered by Magellan? Cynthia is out of network with Magellan.
You will pay your co pay DIRECTLY to Cynthia at the time of service. She accepts cash, check, or credit card. If you are a parent, you may register your credit card on file with her so that you do not miss payments.
What about Group Therapy?
Because Cynthia believes in the best clinical care for her clients, she performs group therapy with a co therapist. Because of this clinical care decision, she will not accept your insurance for group therapy. Group is $65.00 per session and is paid at the time of service.
And about Group therapy… did you know that group therapy offers benefits that you can’t get in individual therapy? Also, did you know that Cynthia and eating disorder dietician, Pam Chin Lai, RD CEDRD, have one of the longest running ED teen groups in the metroplex? That is experience, skill, and personalities that you can’t get any other place.
How long will I come to therapy?
Length of therapy varies widely depending on how long our have been struggling, the multiple issues you may wish to address, and the complexities of your unique situation. Some individuals may need to come multiple times a week during a crisis. You and Cynthia will discuss your progress and develop a strategy to accomplish your goals as quickly as possible, but this will vary by person and situation.
